TRANSCRIBER’S NOTES: The epitaph on the Barber, Hunt Grave (L.8.E) appears to memorialise this child, WILLIAM HUNT, who died aged 17 days and was buried 28 April 1827. However, the death date recorded on the epitaph does not correspond with the 17-day-old WILLIAM HUNT, but is given as 26 April 1826, which aligns with another child named William in the same family: WILLIAM BARBER, whose burial was also registered separately in the parish of St. John’s, Parramatta on 26 April 1826 aged 3 years: see here. It is unclear which of the two children are in fact buried at L.8.E.
Burial Location
Marked grave (L.8.E), St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta.
