JUDITH DUNN OAM, FPDHS is a tour guide and sought-after public speaker, who received an Order of Australia medal for services to history and heritage and holds a Parramatta and District Historical Society Fellowship (FPDHS) for researching and recording Parramatta history. Over decades, Judith has accumulated expert, specialist knowledge in heritage conservation and archaeological matters relating to local heritage sites and historic cemeteries in particular, and regularly monitors site changes and informs site owners on a voluntary basis.
In 1991, Judith built upon Vernon W. E. Goodin’s 1964 publication St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta: Monumental Inscriptions and Key to Graves by updating his inventory of extant and/or previously recorded marked graves, providing the most complete epitaphs possible for all memorials and adding stonemakers’ marks. Judith published this updated Goodin-Dunn Inventory in her book The Parramatta Cemeteries: St. John’s.
